What I collect

Your email address, if you ask for the free starter kit or the templates, or if you buy the book. I use it to send you what you asked for, a small number of emails about MC'ing and the book, and for buyers, a few short emails to help you get ready. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and I keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. I also delete starter kit addresses a couple of months after the wedding, or a year after you signed up if I don't know the date.

The date of the wedding, if you give it to me. It's used only to time the emails I send you around the wedding, and to know when to delete your address afterwards.

Your order details, if you buy the book here. Lemon Squeezy runs the checkout as the merchant of record, which means they process your payment and handle tax. They share your name, email address and what you bought with me so I can deliver it and help if something goes wrong. I never see your card details.

Your approximate location. When a page loads, the site checks which country your connection comes from, so it knows whether it needs to ask about cookies. The country isn't stored.

A few settings in your browser. The site remembers your cookie choice in your browser's local storage. The checkout script from Lemon Squeezy loads on pages with a buy button.

Who sent you, if you followed a link from a celebrant, planner or other partner. Lemon Squeezy's referral script notes the partner's code so they can be paid a commission if you buy. It loads on the same terms as the measurement below.

How the site is used, if you allow it. With your permission, or where the law doesn't require it to be asked for, the site uses cookies and pixels from Meta, Pinterest and Google to count visits, to measure which ads lead to sales, and to show the book to people who have visited. If you're in the UK, the EU or Switzerland, these only load after you say yes.

Why, if you're in the UK or the EU

Emails are sent with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Order details are used to deliver what you bought. Advertising cookies are only used with your consent. You can object to any use of your information by emailing me.

Who handles it

• Lemon Squeezy, for checkout, payment, tax, delivering the download and partner referrals
• MailerLite, for sending emails
• Cloudflare, which hosts the site
• Meta, Pinterest and Google, for measuring and showing ads, if you allow it

Some of these companies store information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union.

What I don't do

I don't sell your information, and I don't share your email address with anyone except the services above.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time with the link at the bottom of each one. You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, by emailing hello@weddingmchandbook.com. To change your cookie choice, use the Cookie choices link at the bottom of any page.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office, or in the EU, the data protection authority where you live.
